I am 6 weeks pregnant and currently CrossFit. I started CrossFit approximately 4-5 weeks after the birth of our daughter in 2010. During my first pregnancy, I did a boot camp up until my 6 month or so and actually would have kept doing that had it not been for a very flakey coach. Thus, after the birth, started CrossFit because my husband raved about it.

I am excited to do CrossFit while pregnant but I am also nervous. I was a real stress case with my first pregnancy (no particular reason) and I just get unnecessarily worried about the baby. My main thing is the overheating. I have a tendency to get very hot, red in the face, etc. during WODs and I know you are supposed to watch your body temp - any one else have this issue? Mainly it is during heavy met con WODs - a lot of double unders, burpees or box jumps. As of right now, I am trying to just take a minute to stop, breath and cool down a bit before starting again.

Any other advice would be appreciated. As of right now, I have not let my coaches know that I'm expecting...planning to in the next week or so.

You really should tell the coaches now, and ask them to keep it private. It's a safety and liability issue. As far as overheating, just continue to do what you're doing. Make sure you stay hydrated, and take as many breaks as necessary. The second trimester is usually the most pleasant to workout. :)

Thanks Andrea! I have a meeting set up with the coaches on Monday to discuss!
