I really want to stay fit through my pregnancy - but the exhaustion is intense. Any tips for getting the energy to WOD after work? (I can't in the AM because I walk my dog about 1.7 miles each AM)

I'm excited to be a Crossfit Mom!

Just keep moving, even if it's walking the dog. Usually by the 2nd trimester, the energy comes back. :) Hang in there.

What Andrea said. :)

I found that during the middle part of the first trimester I couldn't do much more than a light spinning workout. I would force myself to get on the bike and just spin and I found that my energy increased enough to finish the workout. But that exhaustion really only lasted until the 8th week or so and then I had other symptoms to deal with. Keep in mind that as long as you stay moderately active you can pick it back up in the second trimester. I'm at 15 weeks and doing CF 3-4 times per week and then spinning the other two days. I feel great and have loads of energy, so your workouts can increase when you hit that stage.

I am in the same boat EJCoop! 6 weeks and really tired - slow recovery - I even needed to take a nap today! That never happens to me. I am also really sore in my back, feels like I did a ton of Deadlifts. I did read that if you work out first thing in the morning your workouts will be less draining.... I haven't tested this yet!

I am so happy to see this goes away; I am really looking forward to staying with my training.

Same! I'm 5 weeks and super tired and super hungry. I am very competitive with crossfit, so struggling to ignore the clock and reduce weights! So glad I've found this site! I look forward to reading others experiences :) Joanna, South Australia

I was going to CF 5+ times a week before I got pregnant. Weeks 5-9 were the hardest. I slept and slept and slept. When I wasn't sleeping I was working. I was having a lot of problems eating and with nausea. But now that I'm 11wks... I feel better, I have energy and the nausea is almost gone. I don't regret for a second sleeping a ton and doing very little CF. I'm back in the gym and I feel pretty good. My midwife gave me the greatest advise and told me to just trust her....she said do what feels right. And I did. It felt right to stay in bed. Glad I did. It will pass, and you'll feel much better. xoxo
