I had my little one on June 3rd. Cord was wrapped around neck and baby needed to be taken out- asap! Baby doing fine but a little disappointed I had to have the c-section. I know it sounds horrible to say. I should be happy the c-section was performed and my baby survived! I should just be happy baby is ok. He's in the Nicu and I've been visiting him daily since I was discharged on the 6th. I've already dropped 10 lbs..and am only 6 lbs now from where I was prepreggers but I look so swollen! I still look pregnant. I've been this size before non pregnant and looked great...now I am this size and people are still giving up their seats for me on the train.

I guess I had fantasies about looking trim and slim after birth since eveyrone said i looked really fit and pregnant. I know it's only been a few days....

ok..back to pumping the breast milk for my little one...

Congrats on your new bundle of joy! Your post sounds much like mine- c-section, nicu, pumping, thinking I would look thinner.... Hang in there mama you will get back in shape soon- I promise-not really until about 5-6 months post did I really feel like myself, but I think that is because I was only breastfeeding and wanted to make sure I gave baby all the nourishment she needs.

Ok, I spoke to soon! I guess alot of what I experienced was swelling from the C-section. 10 days post c-section and I am 4lbs away from my prepregnancy weight! I still have a little pooch which is to be expected, but as soon as I get the goahead from doctor at my checkup I have no worries about losing it. It's like I shrunk overnight or something. I might not look like the athlete I was prior to pregnancy but I'll get it back. Right now am excited about all the cool tops I can wear. (Yeah, at my fittest I was a bit too small on top. I am going to enjoy having some cleavage for a little while!)

I still can't believe I am only 4 lbs away. My sister who had a baby last year is still trying to lose her babyweight! Of course, she did not work out during her pregnancy either.

All I can say is...working out didn't make my c-section easier but it seems to be making snapping back that much quicker. I still can't get over I am only 4 lbs away!

That's right. A c-section is not something you prepare for, but bouncing back after is exactly what you prepared for. Congrats and go you!
