Just wanted to check in with a quick story. I'm 31 weeks and have been CFing for five years. I'm still going 3 to 4 days a week (usually 3) and scaling appropriately. I had a non-stress test done two weeks ago at 29 weeks due to kind of worrisome fetal movement (or just maternal anxiety). The test is usually 20 minutes long, but the tech told me after about five minutes that we had passed with flying colors. I assumed she was just making an anxious pregnant lady feel better. I had my next appt with my doc this week and we discussed the test for the first time. She pointed out that most babies at 29 weeks are so small that it takes the full 20 minutes to register the neurological activity and the fact that the tech was so sure after such a short period of time was a great sign for baby's neurological health. The heart rate was also nice and variable.
While obviously this is purely anecdotal, I give Crossfit a lot of credit. A strong healthy baby is what this is all about and so far we're doing well! I hope to have a full labor/birth testimonial up in around 9 weeks, but for now this was a nice bit of reassurance of why we are doing what we are doing.
